Know your responsibility

If you walk along the tracks, be aware of where the danger zone is.

How can you be sure to keep out of the danger zone?
How will the engine driver know that you have seen him and are walking safely?
Or how can you warn him of potential danger?

Not everything is covered by rules and regulations. You have to take responsibility.

Study these facts carefully. Click on the image(s) for a summary in pictures.

  • If you need to telephone someone walk to a safe place, well away from the danger zone, and stay there until you have finished your call.
  • If you see someone using a telephone and walking towards the danger zone, warn them!
  • Vehicles can only be parked or moved with permission from ProRail.
  • Raise your hand when a train approaches to let the engine driver know that you have seen him.
  • If a train is in danger you must warn the engine driver by making a circular movement with your arm.
